Allied health jobs: Back to basics to stand out from the crowd
Looking for your next opportunity in allied health? Whether you’re a new grad or an experienced clinician thinking about a career shift, here are a few tips to help you stand out:
- Tailor your CV – Highlight relevant clinical placements, modalities, client types (NDIS, DVA, WorkCover), and any assessments or interventions you’re confident in.
- Showcase your soft skills – Communication, empathy, teamwork, and adaptability are just as important as clinical knowledge. Make sure these shine through in your cover letter and interviews.
- Get clear on what you want – Think about your ideal setting, client base, and support level. This helps you (and your recruiter!) find the right fit.
- Ask questions – Don’t be afraid to ask about induction, supervision, caseloads, and expectations. A great employer will appreciate your curiosity and care.
Bonus tip: Working with a recruiter who specialises in allied health (like me!) means you get guidance, honest feedback, and access to roles that might not be advertised.
If you’re on the hunt or thinking about what’s next in your career, let’s connect, I’d love to support you!
