From good to great: Two skills that elevate allied health leaders
“Sally, we are looking for a leader to be active with our customers & someone happy to be the face of the business. Of course, leadership is important, but we want someone who is proactive in building customer relationships & has a nous for numbers – they can read a P&L & truly understand the commercial nature of the industry.”
We recently recruited several leadership roles with vastly different organisations, but the themes of the job briefs were undeniably similar.
Aspiring leaders in Allied Health, 2 key areas of competence will set you apart from the competition…
▶️ Customer relationship management – BD is not only the responsibility of Sales & Account Management teams. Become confident engaging with customers, building relationships with new & existing customers at all levels
▶️ Financial management – know the numbers. Become familiar with P&L, budgeting, optimising performance & hone your business acumen
Well-developed leadership, technical expertise & soft skills are essential. But if you can also master these two, you’ll present as a compelling leadership candidate to a variety of organisations in Allied Health.
